I learned about backyard bird feeding from my father and ever since Gaylord and I had our first home – we have been feeding birds – other wildlife also.  We have learned how to just have birds at birdfeeders and squirrels either at their own feeders or on the ground. 

I love the store always have – used to be a big time customer before we purchased it from the previous owner 8 years ago.  My favorite thing to do in the store over everything else is to help and excite each and every customer that is interested in the hobby of backyard bird feeding and watching and discovering new species in their very own yards.  I want every one of you to experience the same excitement I get each and every day feeding and watching the awesome songbirds that are attracted to our feeders and our seed.

I grew up in Hawaii where we didn't have all the different songbirds that we have here. 

I look forward to sitting on on our patio and seeing the wide variety of birds at our feeders - sometimes up to 17 different species in one day depending on the time of year.

I love working with our customers and especially enjoy listening to their birding experiences.  It's great helping to bring people and nature together

Hello!  I am Stephanie, I started working at Wild Birds Unlimited in June of 2006 and have been addicted ever since!  I should probably tell you that Karen and Gaylord are my parents which is one of the reasons I started at the store.  I should also tell you that my husband and I have three beautiful children, which is the other reason I started working at the store.  As a stay-at -home Mom of three, I need interaction with adults.  I found that birds are a passion of mine, I think it has always been embedded in my DNA but this job really brought it out.  I have seen over 50 different species visit my backyard feeders since starting and always enjoy when I see a new one.  I love my job and even more so I love our customers!!  So stop in and share your birding story with me, I'm happy to chat with you!!

I was a game farm operator for 10 years with numerous birds including some exotic species.  I enjoy watching and feeding the birds.  Each is unique with different personalitites much like people.  I find the backyard birding hobby to be very relaxing.  My favorite bird is the Bluebird.  I enjoy working at Wild Birds Unlimited as it gives me the opportunity to converse with many individuals about the birds and their experiences.  I have met and continue to meet many wonderful people here at Wild Birds Unlimited.

My family and I have been Wild Birds customers since I was a very young girl.  Birds and nature have always been my thing.  In the 4th grade, I even did my science project on getting bluebirds to nest in our yard.  I was ecstatic to start working at Wild Birds Unlimited especially since I know the store so well.  My favorite thing about working here is I have a common interest with customers, and I like hearing about their experiences with those naughty but adorable squirrels.  Yes, feed the squirrels because they're hungry too!

My name is Ryan and I have been working here at Wild Birds Unlimited since June of 2009. I have recently become a Certified Birdfeeding Specialist and am excited to be able to help anyone that comes through our doors. I attend college here in La Crosse, and have lived in the area for my whole life. I enjoy working at WBU because of the friendly work environment and calm feeling in the store. It's always nice to help customers and give them the tips to having the most success in their backyards. I hope to see you in the store soon!
